FISHERMEN FOR
THE HUNGRY
Lake Seminole
February 20, 2010
Scott Barefoot and Brad
Reynolds, both from Bainbridge, Ga. took
First Place with an amazing catch of 29.20 lbs.
They fished Rat-L Traps all day long putting an
estimated 25 fish in the boat, netting their
largest fish early morning. Their efforts were rewarded with a
check for $880.00
Terry Stevens and David
Johnson from Marianna Fl. finished in Second Place
with another large stringer of fish that tipped the scales at
23.04 lbs. Their technique consisted of
flipping mats with 1 and 1/2oz BIG BITE BAITS
“FIGHTING FROGS” and allowed them to boat approximately
15 fish during the day earning a check for
$440.00 for their efforts.
Earl Roberson from
Naylor, Ga. and Mike Hendrix from Homerville, Ga.
were not far behind in Third Place with a limit of
fish weighing in at 22.94 lbs. They used
crank baits all day and netted approximately 10
fish. They received a check for $220.00
for their efforts.
Fourth Place and a
check for $200.00 went to the fine upstart team
with an outstanding future in our sport of Nic Jeter (18)
and Jake Jeter (13) of Bainbridge, Ga. The pair
fished Rat-L-Traps in shallow water, caught
10 fish during the day, and weighted in a five fish
limit of 22.26 lbs. Jake had the Second
Largest fish for the day of 6.50 lbs. On a
special note….it appeared by the emotions surrounding our event
that a large majority of our spectators came to see this team
weigh in and was kindly kidded about there being 14 generations
cheering them on.
Kyle Oleen from
Freeport, Fl. and Kevin Oleen from Destin, Fl.
weighed in just two fish for the day but made the very best out
of one tipping the scales at 6.80 lbs for the
BIG FISH of the day. They received a check for
$220.00 and two $50.00 Gift Certificates from BIG
BEAR RODS who sponsors our big fish at each tournament.
Reports from our fishermen said the
water was stained and the water temperature was in the mid 50’s for
most of the day. The weather was prefect at 67 degrees, sunny, and
we had no wind to speak of at all.
Totals
for the day consisted of: 22 teams fishing, 70
fish being weighed in of which 100% were
released alive, 248.72 lbs of fish for an
average weight per fish of 3.553 lbs.
